First off, if you're into sappy romance with plenty fluff, go for it. It's solid work for lesbian romance. My advice would be to read the first couple of pages. Get into it? Buy it. It requires a hefty dose of genre obsession.Maybe it's just my penchant for the hate/hate romance cliché, but the two women fall for each other so fast it's practically unbelievable. It's exactly this pace that guaranteed I was never hooked. Brief introduction, immediate so called chemistry, then fast track to U-Haul. Super successful exec lesbian with personality deficiency meets overly preppy cleaning lady, who dances, and comes with the worlds oldest eight year old. Lift off...Technically it's good. It reads well, it's composed nicely. Plot is passable.There's no bite to the drama, imo mostly due to brief character depth. Absolutely no tang to the angst for the same reason. Side characters were there, that's about all I can say about them. Family tension and lesbian reveal made an appearance but glossed over fast. I really could not get into this, and I adore Brayden's 'Waiting In The Wings', one of the genre's absolute best.Get 'Waiting In The Wings' instead. This is not up to par. Melissa Brady ends 2nd book, is amazing. She brings out all emotions from her characters and you can personally feel the struggle and be right there with them.Sarah has had a difficult life, single mother to a fabulous 8 year with a newly found medical issue. Upon meeting Emory, Sarah starts to discover who she really is and what she wants.Emory is someone who would think has had an easy life, trust fund, owns own business. However, unexpectedly her mom passes away and she finds herself lost, even though they didn't have a close relationship.As Emory works through her grief, she shows Sarah parts of herself she rarely shows anyone. Together they start to form a relationship.Love and chemistry is well written. I enjoyed this book so much and look forward to more of Melissa's books.
